Putin Urges Amnesty for Currency Misuse

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for an amnesty for companies in Russia when they commit foreign exchange-related coercive violations if Western parties fail to meet their obligations.
The statement of the President of Russia was made in a speech delivered today, Friday, at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is taking place this week in Russia.
He said: “At a recent meeting, the issue of amnesty in the field of foreign exchange transactions was raised, and we usually do not apply such a procedure, but now that violations of obligations by Western counterparties have become common practice, I think it is right to declare an amnesty for companies for violations.” Currency coercion.
President Putin also pointed out that the economy of initiatives requires increasing production capacity, strengthening infrastructure, using modern technologies and creating new production sites even for industries that have not appeared before.
The St. Petersburg Forum will be held from June 14 to 17, 2023 and will discuss the main economic issues and challenges facing Russia, emerging markets and the world as a whole.
