Qatar-Based IPL Player Arrested on Rape Charges After World Cup Participation
The English newspaper The Sun has revealed a new arrest of a Premier League player on charges of raping a girl.
Several rape and sexual assault crimes have been committed by several players in the English Premier League in recent times, perhaps the most notorious of which is the case of young Manchester United star Mason Greenwood.
And the English newspaper The Sun confirmed that police had arrested a Premier League player in recent hours on charges of raping a girl.
The newspaper declined to reveal the identity of the player or his club for legal reasons, but confirmed that he is an international player in his country’s national team and mainly participated in the last 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The newspaper added that the international player was interrogated for hours after he was arrested by English police after a girl filed a sexual assault complaint against him.
The newspaper reported that the report filed by this woman is considered the third regarding this player, as he was charged with two counts of sexual harassment against two women in April 2021 and June 2022.
And The Sun added that the woman who filed the complaint against the player was told that the incident took place last February in Hertfordshire.
In addition, the newspaper reported that this player was detained by police in July last year after being arrested at his home in north London.
