Raja kicks off his African Champions League career with a sweeping victory over the Vipers
Moroccan club Raja Sports picked up a massive five-goal unanswered victory over their Ugandan guest Vipers on Friday in the first round of the African Champions League group stage.
Hamza Khaba, Djamel Harkas, Mohamed Zuraida, Yousri Buzuk and Togolese Roger Aholu took turns scoring goals in the 5th, 11th, 38th, 59th and 71st minutes respectively.
Raja temporarily tops the third group with three points ahead of Guinea’s Huria and Tanzania’s Simba scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday in the same group competition, with Vipers at the bottom of the standings with no points balance.
The Raj’s match against the Vipers was played in empty stands due to a fine imposed on the Moroccan team by the Confederation of African Football in light of the events that took place in the match against Al-Ahly of Egypt, for the quarter-finals of the last edition of the tournament.
