French striker Karim Benzema, a striker for Saudi Football Association club Jeddah, has sparked controversy over his actions with his former club Real Madrid on social media.

Karim Benzema, 35, left Real Madrid after 14 years at the Santiago Bernabéu and won the 2022 Ballon d’Or thanks to the Merengue.

The French striker surprised the Royal team fans a few days ago by unfollowing the Spanish capital’s Instagram account after joining Al Ittihad.

On Friday, Benzema re-followed a Real Madrid account followed by social media pioneers.

The real reason for Benzema’s cancellation of the Real Madrid sequel isn’t clear, but once the player returns for the sequel, it could turn out to be just a glitch or an unintentional bug.

Benzema may have wanted to send a coded message by deliberately unfollowing Real Madrid before returning to follow the club’s account following an angry backlash from Merengue fans.
