Restoring Relations: Iran and Saudi Arabia End 4-Year Rift
On Friday, official media in the Islamic Republic said that Iran and Saudi Arabia had agreed to restore relations severed in 2016 and reopen diplomatic missions.
“Following the talks, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia agreed to resume diplomatic relations and reopen embassies and missions within two months,” said the official Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency, citing a joint statement. There was no immediate confirmation from the Saudi side.
