The global food price index, published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations “FAO” in February, fell slightly by 0.6% compared to January.
In its report, the organization said the FAO Food Price Index averaged 129.8 last month, a slight decrease (0.6 percent) from its January 2023 level.
She added that the index continues to decline for the eleventh month in a row, and the index is down 29.9 points (18.7 percent) from its March 2022 peak.
This indicates that the index indicates a slight decline in the grain and meat price index, which offsets the sharp increase in the sugar price index.
