Ronaldo’s Controversial Selection: Choosing an Enemy Over a Friend for Top 11 Teammates
Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi star of Al-Nasr, has chosen his best formation from 11 stars he has played against in his professional career.
Ronaldo, 38, has worn shirts from each of the following clubs: Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus in European stadiums.
Spanish network Defensa Central covered Ronaldo’s picks, most of which came from players who joined them at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo has also chosen English striker Wayne Rowan despite a lot of animosity between the two sides in recent years, which has gone as far as verbal brawls in the media.
The scheme chosen by the Portuguese star was as follows:
Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)
Defense: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Marcelo (Real Madrid).
Midfield: Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Paul Scholes (Manchester United).
Forwards: Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid).
And the Madeira Rocket has ignored the placement of prominent players in his career, such as his close friend Bibi, besides Casemiro and Rafael Varane, although the latter two won everything with him at Real Madrid and they also played together in the ranks of Manchester United.
Notably, Ronaldo has scored 103 Premier League goals with Manchester United in the English Premier League, 331 goals with Real Madrid in the Spanish League and 81 goals with Juventus in the Italian League.
