Ruler of the Russians: Looking for a player who threw a banana "Zenith" – a matter of honor

Samara, March 1 – The governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexei Ruskikh, called the case with a banana in the Russian Cup match against St. Petersburg.
The meeting of 1/4 of the zonal finals of the Russian Cup between Ulyanovsk “Volga” and “Zenith” took place on February 25 in Ulyanovsk and ended with a score of 3: 0 in favor of the guests. During the match, a banana fell next to Zenit’s Brazilian midfielder Wendl – according to the News Agency, he was thrown from the central stand. The agency’s Volga press service said the bomber was spotted by surveillance cameras. The police are looking for him.

The governor instructed the Minister of the Ulyanovsk Region Gennady Nyrubiev to provide all necessary assistance to law enforcement officers, and also asked to keep the public informed.
The incident will be considered at a meeting of the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union on March 3.
