Russia sends a Su-27 to intercept a German seaplane over the Baltic Sea

Moscow said on Monday that Russia had deployed a Su-27 fighter jet to intercept a German navy plane over the Baltic Sea after the plane advanced toward its territory.

The Defense Ministry said the German aircraft – a P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft – did not cross Russia’s borders and returned after the encounter.

“After the foreign military aircraft moved away from the borders of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighter returned to its home airport,” the ministry said.
