Russian Foreign Minister Discusses Expansion of Partnership with Iran
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently met with Iranian leaders to discuss the expansion of the multifaceted partnership between Russia and Iran. The discussions took place during Lavrov’s visit to Tehran, where he met with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. The talks focused on various aspects of the bilateral agenda, with an emphasis on further developing the Russian-Iranian partnership as agreed upon by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ebrahim Raisi. Special attention was given to joint projects in energy and logistics, including the full launch of the North-South International Transport Corridor. The Russian Foreign Ministry also noted the high level of communication between the two countries at governmental, parliamentary, inter-departmental, and regional levels, as well as increased relations between business circles. Additionally, both sides agreed on additional steps to strengthen Russian-Iranian relations.
