According to Transmashholding (TMH) car manufacturer, the upper racks of Russian long-distance trains are designed to hold weights of up to 150 kg, while the lower racks can bear weights of up to 300 kg.
TMH stated that the top shelf can support a maximum weight of 150 kg, whereas the bottom shelf can withstand a weight of up to 300 kg.

These weight limits are determined by a special GOST (State Standard) and are considered in the calculation of the racks.
Transmashholding clarified that these weight limits apply to all classes of wagons, including Reserved Seat, Cabin, Lux, and SV.
