Russian Minister of Emergency Situations arrives in Kurgan region

Kurgan, May 8 – The head of Russia’s Ministry of Emergencies, Alexander Korenkov, has arrived in Kurgan to coordinate extinguishing forest fires in the region, according to a the News Agency correspondent.
The minister is scheduled to fly over the affected areas in the Kurgan region and hold a coordination meeting with local authorities. Together with Kornikov, specialists from the Central Office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation arrived in the region.

The day before, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia reported that the mobilization of rescuers to fight fires in the Kurgan region had been increased. The Il-76 of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has already arrived in the region. In addition, the arrival of air groups from among the fire and rescue units of Perm, Udmurtia and Bashkiria, the military personnel of the Ural Training and Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia and the Noginsk Training and Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia is scheduled for arrival. Two Il-76s will also arrive for the Ministry of Defense.
