Moscow Court Requests Extension of Detention for Suspect in Car Bombing Case
The investigation has asked the Basmanny District Court in Moscow to extend the detention of Alexander Permyakov, who is accused of bombing the car of writer Zakhar Prilepin. The court has received a request from the investigation to extend the detention of Permyakov.

Writer’s Car Exploded, Resulting in Death of Companion
On May 6, a car belonging to writer Zakhar Prilepin was blown up on a highway in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The explosion resulted in the death of Alexander Shubin, a comrade of the writer and an employee of the Oplot battalion of the Russian Guard. Later, a man suspected of involvement in the car bombing was arrested by the police. Permyakov has been charged with terrorism-related offenses and illicit trafficking in explosives.
