Saint Germain surprises Messi over renewal talks
French network RMC Sport has reported that Louis Campos, the Parisian club’s sports advisor, is currently working on a restructuring of the Paris Saint-Germain club’s attack for the new season.
She explained that the PSG leadership is seriously considering ending its dependence on the attacking triangle of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar.
She added: “The only thing that can be said for sure is that Mbappe will be at the center of the new project, which means that Messi and Neymar duo can be dispensed with.”
She indicated that Messi’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and it is said that negotiations with him for an extension have stalled.
And the French network continued: “The plan for the Paris deal next summer includes the signings of midfielders Youssef Fofana and Hevren Thuram, in addition to attacking trio Marcus Thuram, Manu Koni and Randall Kolo Mwani.”
She concluded: “PSG are keen to include young French talent in their squad and all that remains is to reduce the wage bill for their players so as not to violate the rules of financial fair play.”
