Saudi Arabia Clinches Victory, Ending Crisis for Egyptian Goalkeeper Abu Jabal

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah reported on Saturday that Saudi club Al-Nasr and Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed Abu Jabal had reached an amicable end to the dispute.

Abu Jabal currently plays for Al-Ahli Bank after his move to Saudi Al-Nasr failed after his contract with Zamalek ended.

The newspaper said that the dispute “ended between the victory of Saudi Arabia and Muhammad Abu Jabal by mutual agreement and the closure of the case.”

And the crisis between the two sides came to a stalemate after the Al-Nasr club signed the Egyptian goalkeeper after his remarkable performance for the Egyptian national team at the African Nations in Cameroon in 2021.

After Abu Jabal entered the final six months of his contract with his former club Zamalek, Al-Nasr signed the goalkeeper to a two-year, $4 million contract.

However, Al-Nasr refused to complete the deal after he was able to sign Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina.

Abu Jabal demanded the full value of the contract, but his request was rejected by the Al-Nasr administration, so the Egyptian goalkeeper filed a complaint with the International Football Association.
