Saudi Arabia creates new tourist visa program

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported that the Saudi government has changed visa rules for tourists by launching a new visa program.

The new “Your Ticket is a Visa” program, developed jointly with Saudi Arabia, grants travelers who have booked tickets to Saudi Arabia permission to enter the famous Arab country for 96 hours.

Foreigners will have to use the allowed four days at their own discretion, such as for sightseeing, Hajj and Umrah, and the service will be extended to all international airports in the country.

Saudi travelers will be able to obtain a transit visa when booking tickets online, and will be asked about the need for a visa during the ticket purchase process. If the answer is positive, they will be redirected to fill out a visa application form and perform some procedures on the country’s visa services portal. The timing and cost of the service are still kept secret. The expected launch date is the first half of 2023. .
