Sobolivka Resident Shares Account of Being Shot Near Home as Teenager

Belgorod, June 4 – The teenager Vadim told the News Agency how on Friday he and his friends were shot near his home in the village of Sobolivka, Belgorod Region, fleeing from scratch and fear.
At the time of the bombing, Vadim was walking with his friends not far from the house. “The whistle started, then the three of us lay down, and the explosions started. When the shelling ended, we immediately ran to our homes … It was scary. We lay down, covering our hands, and waited for the shelling,” Vadim said.
The shells hit houses a few dozen meters away from where Vadim and his friends were walking. The teenager was caught by shrapnel, and a shallow scratch remained on his lower back. At the same time, the guy was very scared, and he says that he came to his senses all day. “Now I calmed down. I drank tranquilizers,” Vadim added.

The boy’s relatives were in the house at the time of the bombing. “During the bombing, they could not jump, because the fragments flew through the door. He just stopped, and they jumped out into the street, he replied, that is, he was alive. Everything is fine … how the child is, Vadim’s uncle Dmitry told the News Agency Strizhakov.
According to the man, the house where Vadim lived was badly damaged by shrapnel, the windows, the front door and the roof were damaged.
On Friday evening, immediately after Sobolivka was bombed, Gladkov reported that two people were killed and six wounded. The victims were reported to include two children – a 13-year-old boy with a closed fracture of the left shoulder and an 11-year-old girl who had shrapnel wounds in the left eye.
