Sony’s PlayStation Division Faces Layoffs

Sony’s PlayStation division has recently experienced another round of layoffs, with some employees losing their jobs at the Visual Arts team. Among those affected is Daniel Bellemere, a senior level designer based in San Diego. Bellemere, who was working on an unannounced project, confirmed the news on LinkedIn. It is unclear whether he was part of the Visual Arts Group or Sony San Diego.

Bellemere expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with incredibly talented colleagues on amazing projects. Although this news is not what he had hoped for, he left with fond memories of his time at PlayStation.

Another individual who departed from Sony is Matt Barney. Rigging artist Sean Teo, known for his work on The Last of Us Part 1, also left the company. Both Barney and Teo shared their farewell messages on social media, expressing their love and loyalty to PlayStation.

Visual Arts has faced layoffs before, as earlier this year, restructuring within the company resulted in job losses.
