South Korea’s Taihan Electrical Wire Company wins contract for Bahrain power grid project

South Korea’s Taihan Electrical Wire Company has announced that it has secured a contract for an ultra-high voltage power grid project from the Bahrain Electricity Authority (EWA). This marks the company’s first entry into the Bahrain market, with the contract valued at approximately $60 million (80 billion won).

The contract includes a turnkey project to construct a 400-kilovolt underground power grid, which will be connected to a new substation being built in the Al Jasrah area of northwest Bahrain. Taihan Electrical Wire Company will provide all necessary materials, including ultra-high voltage cables and connecting materials, as well as handle the design, installation, connection, and testing of the power grid. The project has demanding technical requirements, highlighting the company’s expertise and capabilities.
