Start of production of new Kalashnikov assault rifles for the Indian army

Rostec Corporation announced that the Russian-Indian joint venture Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited has started production of AK-203 assault rifles for the Indian army.

On this occasion, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said: “Russia and India are connected by reliable partnerships, and the project of Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited, located in India, has become one of the important results of the technical and military cooperation between the two countries. With the launch of serial production of AK-203 assault rifles, this company will begin supplying high-quality, convenient and modern small arms to the Indian army, and this type of automatic rifles is among the best individual weapons in the world, and these rifles are distinguished by excellent technical and tactical characteristics.

According to Chemezov, the goal of creating the aforementioned company is to completely localize the production of AK-203 assault rifles in India, and in the near future this enterprise will be able to produce promising models of Kalashnikov assault rifles.

Alexander Mikheev, General Director of Rosoboronexport, said: “The 7.62 caliber AK-203 is suitable for many countries, capable of operating in various conditions, and the products of Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited fully comply with the Made in India and DAP concepts. rules.-2020, and today India is the first foreign country producing AK-203 assault rifles, and can export them to other countries.
