Sventik defeats Alexandrova in Madrid tournament’s round of 16

Moscow, May 2 – Russian tennis player Yekaterina Alexandrova ended her singles performance at the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid with prize money of more than €7.7 million, losing to the world’s first racket, Paul Iga Switek.

The meeting of the fourth round between Šwiętek (1 seed) and Aleksandrova (16th) ended with a victory for the Polka with a score of 6: 4, 6: 7 (3: 7), 6: 3. The opponents spent 2 hours 27 minutes on the court.
To reach the semi-finals of the competition, Sventic will compete with the Croatian Petra Martić (27).
