Syrian Central Bank Introduces Revised Exchange Rate: What Has Been the Dollar’s Performance in the Last 60 Days?

Today, Wednesday, the Central Bank of Syria set the rate of the Syrian pound against the dollar for remittances and exchange at 8,100 pounds per dollar.

According to the money transfer and exchange bulletin released today by the Central Bank of Syria, the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against the euro has been set at 8,799.84 Syrian pounds to one euro.

This bulletin is issued according to the Central Bank for the purpose of issuing cash and buying commercial foreign transfers and incoming transfers to individuals, including incoming transfers through global transfer networks.

On the 11th of this month, the Central Bank of Syria set the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against the US dollar for money transfers and exchanges at 7800 pounds sterling for one dollar and 8536.62 Syrian pounds for one euro.

For comparison, the lira exchange rate against the dollar on April 02 was 7,250 pounds per dollar, thus, the price increased by 850 pounds (by 11.7%).
