Syria’s representative at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum: Who’s taking the lead?

Syrian Deputy Finance Minister Riyad Abdel Raouf said Finance Minister Keenan Yagi will represent his country at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum next month.

This is stated in a message published by the Roscongress Foundation, which is responsible for organizing the event, today, Friday.

Abdul Rauf said that “Finance Minister Keenan Yagi will take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum as a representative of Syria at the invitation of Anton Kobyakov, adviser to the President of Russia and executive secretary of the organizing committee of the forum.”

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held this year from June 14 to 17, 2023, and it is noteworthy that the UAE is participating as a guest of honor in the economic event.

This comes after Egypt took part in this capacity in the 2022 forum and Qatar in 2021. In 2022, about 5.6 trillion rubles ($105 billion) worth of deals and contracts were concluded at the forum, 691 agreements were signed.
