Moscow, December 29 – The US hockey team lost to the Slovak national team in the group stage match of the World Youth Hockey Championship, which is being held in Canada.

The meeting of Group B, the matches of which were held in Moncton, ended with a score of 6: 3 (1: 2, 3: 0, 2: 1) in favor of the Slovaks. The winners were Libor Nemic (3rd minute), Dalibor Dvorski (31), Robert Bachchu (32), Philip Machar (34), Peter Rybsek (51) and Alex Gernik (59) goals. The Americans scored both Tyler Bush (5, 56) and Gavin Brindley (7).
After two rounds, the USA and Slovakia had three points each. The leaders of Group Two remain Switzerland and Finland, each of which scored four points. Latvians take the last place (1).
