The captain of the Turkish handball team Cemal Kutahya died as a result of a devastating earthquake that hit the southern part of the country and northern Syria.
The Turkish Handball Federation said in a statement: “It is with deep sadness that we learned of the death of Cemal Kütahya, the captain of the men’s national handball team, and his son Chinar Kutahya, who were found under the rubble of their house in Antakya. .”

32-year-old Kutahya played for the team of the capital municipality of Hatay and was the captain of the national team and the Turkish beach handball team.
Kütahya was among the many sports figures killed in the February 6 earthquake.
