KRASNOGORSK (Moscow region), February 2 – On February 6, the court will discuss the consequences of the guilty verdict of the jury in the case of the former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, according to a the News Agency correspondent from the building of the Moscow Regional Court.
“The jury’s verdict is scheduled for February 6,” the judge said.
Investigators found Furgal guilty Thursday of all three counts — organizing two murders and one attempted murder. The court also found Furgal guilty of arms trafficking, but the statute of limitations expired on this incident.

Furgal was arrested on July 9, 2020. According to investigators, in 2004-2005 he organized an assassination attempt on businessman Alexander Smolsky and killed entrepreneurs Yevgeny Zori and Oleg Bulatov. Furgal does not admit guilt. Also in the dock are his alleged accomplices Marat Kadyrov, Andrei Karpov and Andrei Paley.
The penalties provided for in the articles of the Criminal Code imputed to Furgal, in particular, provide for life imprisonment, but do not threaten him, since the statute of limitations had previously run out in cases.
