The deadly winter storm has caused thousands of US flights to fall
A powerful winter storm sweeping across the United States has canceled thousands of commercial flights scheduled to serve the Christmas long weekend.
Monday’s cancellation numbers were 2,767. Of the 5,319 flight delays, 641 were delayed in and out of the United States.
According to flight-tracking website FlightAware, Southwest Airlines alone has canceled 725 flights, and 103 have been delayed. On Friday, Southwest Airlines canceled 1,238 flights.
On Monday, China Eastern Airlines canceled 596 flights, accounting for 32% of its total services.
Delta Air Lines has a total of 247 cancellations and 69 flights delayed. United Airlines canceled 84 flights and Alaska Airlines canceled 79.
The deadly winter storm has reportedly affected more than 200 million people and killed at least 12 people.
