Dr. Alina Khrebkova, a cardiovascular specialist, said that shortness of breath and headaches could indicate high blood pressure levels.

In an interview with the Izvestiya newspaper, the doctor indicated that the results of the studies showed a high demand for antihypertensive drugs, which indicates an increase in the number of people suffering from this problem.

She says: “Persistent high blood pressure (130/80 mm Hg and above) may indicate problems in the heart and blood vessels – arterial hypertension. And about half of people with high blood pressure do not know about it: because, contrary to stereotypes “, does not affect the well-being of a person. High blood pressure is always on the well-being of a person. Some people may experience headache, shortness of breath and nosebleeds, but these manifestations are not specific to the disease.”

The doctor advises to measure the level of blood pressure after the age of 18 regularly, at least once a year. Because people who have relatives with cardiovascular diseases have to measure blood pressure several times a year.

She says: “High blood pressure is a chronic condition. Chronic diseases require constant medical care, even if the patient achieves remission.”
