BLS Wallet has launched an Ethereum bi-specialized wallet that integrates with the Ethereum Smart Layer 2 contract layer protocol – Metis (METIS) – promising transactions.

In an announcement shared with Crypto.News, the new integration will make it easier for Web 2.0 users to join the Web 3.0 application. This will be achieved through pre-funded transactions that are free to the end user and social key redemption minimizing the consequences of misuse of the private key – among other things.

Developers using the Metis ecosystem are free to change between BLS Wallet or normal transactions, and Web 2.0 users easily with gas-free transactions that make interactions more similar to traditional web interface interactions without sharing digital assets.

The protocol also allows for signature aggregation which results in many transactions being processed as one large transaction to save costs.

All of these features combined lead to what James Zaki — project lead at BLS Wallet and the Privacy and Expansion Explorations Group — calls “account stripping.”

“Account stripping will change the way users interact with Web3.”

BLS Wallet is part of the Privacy and Expansion Explorations team backed by the Ethereum Foundation.

The announcement comes after the valuation of rival Blocto Wallet rose by 700% following a Series A funding round involving high-profile investors such as Mark Cuban and 500 Global.
