Moscow, February 21 – The press officer for cross-country skiing at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), Sunne Dürhaug, has apologized for the fact that the promotional video for the 2023 World Ski Championships included shots with Russians Alexander Bolshunov and Natalia Nebryaeva.
Earlier, FIS posted on its YouTube channel a video presentation of the upcoming World Championships, which will be held from February 21 to March 5 in Planica, Slovenia. It included footage from Bolshunov’s and Nepryaeva’s performances. Three-time Olympic champion Bolshunov is shown leading the fight with Norway’s Johannes Klebo, and Olympic champion Nepriyaeva is shown dueling with Finland’s Anna Kilonen.

Because of the situation in Ukraine, the FIS stopped the Russians and Belarusians from starting last season. In October, the FIS Council extended the suspension for the 2022/23 season.
