The Football Association of Oman said the Iraqi government is providing seats for Omani fans to play in the final match of the Gulf Cup “Gulf 25” at the Basra International Stadium.

The federation said in a statement: “The Iraqi government has purchased seats at the Basra International Stadium for Omani fans present in Basra Province to play in the final match of the Gulf Arab Cup.

Where all spectators will be transferred to Basra International Airport and the area around the stadium, and their entrance to the stands will be secured.

The Board of Directors of the Football Association of Oman expresses its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the brothers in the Republic of Iraq.

The stands of the International Stadium in Basra were filled to overflowing with Iraqi fans hours before the match between Iraq and Oman, amid a mass stampede in the vicinity of the stadium, which left one person dead and dozens injured.

This resulted in the Football Association of Oman earlier returning fans present at Basra International Airport to the Sultanate of Oman hours before the final match of the Gulf Cup after consultation with the competent authorities.
