Moscow, December 21 – Paris Saint-Germain has reached a tentative agreement to extend the contract of Argentine captain Lionel Messi, according to Le Parisien newspaper.
According to the source, the 35-year-old striker has agreed to stay at PSG for at least one more season. The two sides reached an agreement during the World Cup in Qatar, defeating Messi and the Argentine national team.
Messi’s new contract ends after he gets out of vacation and meets the club’s CEO, Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021 and joined the French team on a free transfer after his contract with Spanish Barcelona expired, and due to financial fair play problems, the blue opal was unable to renew it. The current agreement between the Argentine and the Parisians expires at the end of the current season.
