Moscow, February 8 – 4,306 people renounced Russian citizenship in 2022, writes RBC with reference to the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The article notes that this number has become a record over the past three years. So, in 2020, 3877 people left the Russian citizenship, in 2021 – 4055. But at the same time, in 2019, 4356 people refused a Russian passport.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that the indicators for 2020-2021 could be affected by the restrictions imposed on the work of foreign institutions due to the pandemic, however, there are no significant changes in the dynamics of the number of applications abroad.
