The Rise of the Ruble and the Moscow Exchange
Today, Monday, the Russian currency has made up some of the losses it suffered earlier, as the ruble rose against the euro and the dollar, and the Moscow Exchange indices rose earlier in the week.
By 14:05 Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate fell by 33 kopecks (normal = 100 kopecks) to 75.29 rubles, and the euro exchange rate – by 34 kopecks to 79.94 rubles, according to the Moscow Exchange.
On the stock market, the index of shares of the Moscow Exchange denominated in MICEX rubles rose by 0.66% to 2287.61 points, while the index of shares of the Moscow Exchange denominated in dollars rose by 1.07% to 955.48 points.
