Moscow, January 3 – Days off should be distributed evenly, and New Year’s holidays should be reduced so that people do not have weeks of rest, but three active days, State Duma deputy from United Russia Maxim Ivanov told the News Agency.
At the same time, the parliamentarian noted that it is not necessary to shorten the May holidays, when people are engaged in sowing.

“As for the May holidays, they should not be reduced, because people are engaged in sowing, that is, they plant potatoes, look after gardens, vegetable gardens, and here, perhaps, it will still be useful for people to have many days off in May,” he added.
In 2023, Russians will have public holidays January 1-8 (8 days), February 23-26 (4 days), March 8, May 29-May 1 (3 days), May 6-9 (3 days) ), from June 10 to 12 (3 days), from November 4 to 6 (3 days). Thus, in 2023 there will be 24 public holidays.
