The State Duma Declares IOC’s Decision on Russian Athletes as Illegal

Moscow, March 28 – The head of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Svishchev (LDPR) called the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding Russian athletes illegal.
On Tuesday, the International Olympic Committee recommended that international federations allow Russians who did not support the special operation as neutral athletes to start. At the same time, the organization proposes that athletes associated with the armed forces and security services not be allowed to compete. It was also decided that the national teams of Russia and Belarus should not be considered participants in international competitions.
