Chelyabinsk, January 10 – Investigative authorities of the Kurgan region are investigating why the residents of the village of Martino were left without drinking water and, as a result, had to extract it from pieces of ice of a local lake, the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The district union reported on Tuesday.
According to the information portal “Oblast 45”, a little more than 100 people live in the village of Martino, mostly pensioners. Drinking water has not been brought from Makushino for several months, although it was delivered earlier. The media specifies that people have to go to the local lake and cut the ice off it, then melt it and use it for drinking purposes.
