The United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) have announced a new partnership to unite blockchain and cryptocurrency.
The partnership will introduce the dynamic alliance on blockchain security and standardization. You will use the GBA maturity model to drive blockchain adoption and ensure network interoperability.
Moreover, the Dynamic Alliance on Blockchain Assurance and Standardization will focus on promoting the use of blockchain in various industries, including artificial intelligence, supply chain, economic development, environmental stewardship, telecommunications, infrastructure, and digital identity.
Notably, a 2022 report from Chainalysis highlighted the growing importance of blockchain and cryptocurrencies on the global stage. She emphasized the rapid rate of adoption observed in many countries.
This increasing prominence underscores the need for appropriate standardization. To this end, the recently formed coalition of the IGF and the GBA will work to ensure that the blockchain is used responsibly and efficiently. This will help pave the way for widespread adoption of this innovative technology.
The development comes just days after the government’s Blockchain Association released its Web3 intelligence protocol PlatoAI on its membership platform.
The IGF and GBA partnership is an important step forward in the global effort to standardize blockchain and cryptocurrency. Group members have already launched several pilot initiatives for blockchain initiatives.
To ensure proper implementation, the Coalition will meet regularly throughout the year to discuss the progress of each phase of the work. The alliance will also periodically release the results of its efforts, including standardization and assurance standards and the results of pilot projects.
In addition, the Dynamic Alliance on Blockchain Assurance and Standardization will also develop a verification protocol to ensure that blockchain solutions meet the necessary standards. The coalition will receive support from all stakeholders, including government agencies, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.
