Moscow, December 30 – Team USA defeated Switzerland in the group stage match of the World Youth Ice Hockey Championships.
The meeting of Group B, the matches of which were held in Moncton, Canada, ended with a score of 5: 1 (1: 0, 3: 1, 1: 0) in favor of the Americans. As part of the winners, Jimmy Sngerud (19th and 37th minutes) scored a double, and Logan Cooley (26), Tyler Boucher (39) and Luke Hughes (54) scored another puck each. In Switzerland, Attilio Biaasca scored the only goal (40).
The USA team achieved its second win in three group stage matches, scoring 6 points. The Swiss team has 4 points from three matches.

The tournament, also hosted by Halifax, will end on January 5, 2023.
