Moscow, February 8 – Argentine world champion Emiliano Martinez, Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, Real Madrid and Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have reached the last three contenders for the FIFA Best Goalkeeper of the Year award, according to the organization’s official website.
The winner will be announced at the FIFA Awards Gala on 27 February in Paris. Players’ scores between August 8, 2021 and December 18, 2022 are taken into consideration when selecting a winner.
Previously, two goalkeepers from the Brazilian national team were among the applicants – Alisson Becker (Liverpool) and Ederson (Manchester City). The three finalists were determined as a result of voting, which ended on February 3.
