Tinder Introduces New Feature: Tinder Matchmaker – Revolutionizing the Dating App Experience
Tinder Introduces New Feature: Tinder Matchmaker
Tinder is revolutionizing the dating app experience by allowing users to invite their friends, even non-Tinder users, to view and suggest potential matches. Inspired by user data, this new feature called Tinder Matchmaker aims to help people discover who their friends and family members think would be a good match for them.
The Idea Behind Tinder Matchmaker
The idea behind Tinder Matchmaker is based on the fact that over 75% of singles discuss their dating life with friends multiple times per month, according to a survey commissioned by Tinder. The feature allows friends to participate in the matchmaking process without having full control over the swiping experience, just like in real life. This means that individuals still have the final say in deciding whether or not they want to match with someone or send a Like.
How to Use Tinder Matchmaker
To use Tinder Matchmaker, users can start a session directly from a profile card or the app settings. They will receive a unique link that they can share with up to 15 friends within a 24-hour period. Friends following the link can either log into Tinder or continue as a guest after completing an age verification prompt and agreeing to terms. During the session, friends can recommend profiles for the user to review once the session ends.
Excitement from Chief Marketing Officer
Chief Marketing Officer at Tinder, Melissa Hobley, expressed excitement about the launch of Tinder Matchmaker, saying, “Tinder Matchmaker brings your circle of trust into your dating journey and helps you see the possibilities you might be overlooking from the perspective of those closest to you.”
Partnership with Coi Leray
In addition, Tinder has partnered with Coi Leray, the singer of “Players,” to promote the new feature. In an upcoming video, she’ll show how the “friend test” feature works.
Changing Landscape of Dating Apps
This introduction of Tinder Matchmaker comes at a time when younger users, particularly Gen Z, are growing tired of swiping-based dating apps like Tinder. Instead, they are turning to friend-finding apps and traditional social media platforms such as Instagram to make romantic connections. Additionally, startups are exploring video-based approaches or utilizing AI for dating experiences.
Global Launch of Tinder Matchmaker
Tinder Matchmaker is launching today in select countries including the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. The feature will be rolled out globally to Tinder users in the coming months.
