Toulon Declares State of Emergency as Ea River Reaches Critical Water Levels

Irkutsk, July 8 – Due to the high water level in the Iya River, an emergency situation has been introduced in the city of Toulon, reports the governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev on his Telegram channel.

The Investigative Committee of Toulon initiated a preliminary investigation based on materials published in the media, which said that a new residential building in the Ogolchikov microdistrict, where migrants received apartments after the 2019 flood, was flooded.
In the remaining areas of the flood-affected Irkutsk region, according to GUMCHS in the Angara region, the waters are dwindling. 350 Neighborhoods are still flooded at 16.00 (11.00 Moscow time) in 10 settlements and 9 gardens.
