The Tunisian national team managed a 1-0 victory over Libya in a very exciting match that drew the ire of fans at the end of the second round of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier group stage.

The only goal of the match was scored by Haytham Al-Juveni with a header in the 16th minute of the first half of the match thanks to the excellent skill of Ali Maaloula.

The Libyan national team tried several times to return to the match, but failed to score against the Carthage Eagles throughout the match.

The match drew a lot of anger from Libyan fans, who showered the stadium with water bottles and threw them at players, whether from their country’s national team to protest the defeat at home, or even at invited players.

Libyan fans also lit the fireworks strongly, as thick smoke prevailed during some periods of the standoff, making it hard to see the players and match referee.
