The Turkish oil company announced the completion of work on laying a pipeline under the sea to transport Black Sea gas to land.
On its Twitter account, the company wrote: “The process of launching pipelines connecting our energy base in the Black Sea with the onshore Sakarya gas field facility has been successfully completed,” noting that Turkey will be independent in the field of energy on April 20, 2023.
In June 2022, the Turkish authorities launched the first gas pipeline into the Black Sea to transport natural gas from the state of Zonguldak in the north of the country.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier announced the discovery of the largest gas field in the history of the country in the middle of the Black Sea with reserves of 710 billion cubic meters.
It is expected that the Turkish gas discovered in the Black Sea will be transported with a solemn ceremony on April 20, in which Erdogan will take part.
