BOLU (Türkiye), April 12 – Turkish presidential candidate Muharrem Ince said in an interview with the News Agency that he intends to build strong and trusting relations with the Russian Federation if he comes to power.
“We want good relations with the Russian Federation – this is one of our most important neighbours,” Inge said.
He pointed out that a large part of Turkey’s foreign trade with Russia, and there are links between countries in the areas of tourism and energy resources.

He ran in the 2018 presidential elections as a candidate of the opposition Republican People’s Party and got more than 30% of the vote, but later broke away from the CHP and formed his own party Mamluk. Ince managed to collect more than 100,000 voter signatures to register his candidacy. According to the results of various polls, at present, at least 8-10% of voters are willing to vote for Ince.
Presidential and parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place in Türkiye on May 14. The main opponent of the current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan – the only candidate from the “Republican Alliance” – is the only candidate from the opposition “People’s Alliance” Kemal Kilicdaroglu. Memleket party leader Muharrem Ince and Atta Sinan Ogan’s coalition candidate are also running. The second round, in the event that none of the candidates can get more than 50% of the vote, will be held on May 28.
