Two conditions for Ronaldo to participate in the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia
FIFA announced on Tuesday evening that Saudi Arabia will host the next Club World Cup, which will take place from 12 to 22 December 2023.
Due to the fact that the tournament takes place in Saudi Arabia, the chances of the winning star of the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo to participate in the Club World Cup have increased.
However, Ronaldo’s participation in the Club World Cup depends on winning the Roshen (local) league and no Saudi team winning the current version of the AFC Champions League.
FIFA laws prohibit the presence of two teams from the same country in the Club World Cup, which happened in the previous edition after Wydad won the African Champions League title, and with the transfer of the final to Morocco, his runner-up Al-Ahly from Egypt was included in the list of participants .
Clubs “Al-Hilal” and “Al-Shabab”, in addition to “Al-Faysaly”, reached the 16th round of the Asian Championship, the qualifying competitions of which will be held in the capital of Qatar, Doha.
If one of these teams wins the AFC Champions League title, they will take part in the Club World Cup, and with it the dream of winning the championship will evaporate.
