UEFA Unveils Week’s Best Performers in Champions League and Europa League

Moscow, April 14 – Manchester City defender John Stones was named the best player in the Champions League, according to the European Football Association (UEFA) website.

On Tuesday, the English national team inflicted a crushing defeat on Germany’s Bayern (3: 0) in the first match of the quarter-finals of the tournament. The Stones made four interceptions, and had an 86% pass accuracy. Also nominated for the award were Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) and Prim Diaz (Milan).

In the Europa League, the midfielder of English “Manchester United” Marcel Sabitzer became the player of the week, who scored a brace in the quarter-final meeting with the Spanish “Seville” (2: 2). Orkon Koccu (Feyenoord), Victor Boniface (Al-Ittihad) and Federico Gatti (Juventus) were also nominated.
