Ukraine and US Collaborate with NASA to Monitor ZNPP

Moscow, July 4 – Ukraine and the United States plan to start monitoring the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) using the capabilities of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Ukraine’s Energy Ministry said.

According to the agency, Galushenko informed Brink about the current situation in the Ukrainian energy system, stating that Russia intended to carry out a terrorist attack at the ZNPP.

Earlier, the head of the Zaporozhye social movement “We are with Russia” Vladimir Rogov said that the Kiev authorities are studying several provocative scenarios at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, including a missile attack or a terrorist attack. The provocation could take place before the NATO summit, which is scheduled for mid-July. The preparation of the provocation scenario is supervised by the British intelligence services.

Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River near the town of Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity – the plant has six power units with a capacity of 1 gigawatt each. In October 2022, the nuclear power plant will become the property of the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian army continues to regularly bomb Innerhodar and the territory of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, adjacent to the city. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Kiev regime is seeking to create the appearance of a threat of a nuclear catastrophe by continuing to intentionally bomb the ZNPP. The IAEA has repeatedly stated the need to create a security zone around the ZNPP.
