Donetsk, January 3 – Ukrainian forces fired three 155mm NATO-caliber shells at the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk, reported the representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic at the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordination of Cases Related to War Crimes in Ukraine (JCCC).
Later, the mission changed the bombing time. According to the agency, at 20.40 Moscow time, Ukrainian forces opened fire on the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk.
NATO countries use 155 mm artillery. The United States has supplied Kyiv with long-range 155-mm howitzers M777, which are actively used by Ukrainian forces for shelling the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German self-propelled guns PzH 2000, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns with shells of this caliber.
