Donetsk, January 4 – Ukrainian forces fired 39 shells and eight mines into the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic on Wednesday within three hours, according to the DPR’s representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of War Crimes Cases in Ukraine (JCCC).
“Shelling was recorded by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine – ed.) in the following directions: 09.35 (coincides with Moscow time – ed.) – the settlement of Tunenko – the city of Donetsk (Kyiv province),” the ministry said in a message on its Telegram channel. four 155 mm shells; 09.35 – Avdiivka settlement – Yasenovataya settlement: eight 155 mm shells were fired.
The mission added that at 06.40 Moscow time, Ukrainian forces fired eight 120-mm mines in Mayorsk, at 08.10 Moscow time in Panteleimonovka – 10 155-mm shells, at 08.55 Moscow time in the Kievsky district of Donetsk – six with 155 mm caliber.
In addition, at 08:58 Moscow time, Ukrainian forces fired eight 155-mm shells in the Chervonogvardeysky district of Makeyevka, and at 09.27 Moscow time in the Kievsky district of Donetsk – three 155-mm shells.
NATO countries use 155 mm artillery. The United States has supplied Kyiv with long-range 155-mm howitzers M777, which are actively used by Ukrainian forces for shelling the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German self-propelled guns PzH 2000, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns with shells of this caliber.
